There are millions of homeschoolers around the globe, but not all of them are successful. With that being said, there must be some qualities (aka habits of highly successful homeschoolers) that separate successful homeschoolers from those who aren’t.

The question raised in my mind: Why are some homeschoolers more successful?

For the past few days, I was thinking about those habits that successful homeschool families / homeschoolers possess. After listening to many homeschooling PROS, experienced people, and from different homeschool forums (along with my experience, of course) I figured out some pure nuggets that will help you to be on TOP of the list.

What I figured out

The main barriers to successful homeschooling are the lack of resources and socialization. And here you have to make the trick.

Effective homeschoolers often create their own resources, keep on track, and are accountable, and motivated.

Well, throughout this guide, we will be discussing these issues in detail along with handy tips to cope with them with ease.

Underneath are the most highlighted habits of successful homeschoolers that make them different from others.

The most successful homeschooling families have a clear vision for why they’re homeschooling in the first place. They know their goals, values, and mission clearly. This helps them to stay focused on what’s important and weed out anything that doesn’t fit into their homeschooling philosophy.

Homeschoolers are often compared to their counterparts in the public school system.

This comparison is not only unfair, but it can also lead to discouragement.

Every successful homeschooler knows that they’re on their own unique path. They don’t compare themselves to others and focus on their own goals. This helps them to stay motivated

Homeschooling is a compounding effect and delayed gratification process. This means it will not show results like the one enrolled in public school who score A+ grades on weekly tests. But it will benefit in a long run for sure.

This year, I read an amazing book named “7 habits of highly effective people” and I can really resonate with those 7 habits. And I believe anybody in the world who want to be in the top 1% should aim for those habits, and so you as a homeschooler too.

1. Be Proactive – Proactivity separates ineffective people and high achievers. It’s all about taking charge of your life and not being controlled by external circumstances, like people around you, what they said, what they have bad thoughts about you, how they see your life, and how they judge you.

Because it’s your life and you will decide it.

2. Begin with the End in Mind – Now again goal-setting (it’s very important). This is all about setting goals and having a clear vision of what you want to achieve. Everything you do should be in line with your goals. You should know what you want and go for it.

Goal-setting is a good thing as it keeps you focused and motivated on your path to success.

3. Put First Things First – This is about prioritizing your work and knowing what’s important and what’s not. You should always work on the most important task first and then move to the less important ones.

4. Think Win-Win – This habit is about finding a solution in which both parties feel like they have won. It’s all about compromising and not being too selfish.

5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood – This habit is about communication. It’s all about understanding the other person before trying to make yourself understood. You should always try to see things from the other person’s perspective.

6. Synergize – Teamwork…

Ah! I know it’s painful for homeschoolers. But what Is aid! You’re not an ineffective homeschooler. So start looking around for people with similar interests, join a club or group, participate in an online forum or blog, or even start your own group. You should always try to find ways to work together because two heads are better than one. Remember, collaboration can greatly enrich your homeschool journey.
